Gift cards: a simple gesture with a few important details. Here’s what you need to know about buying, sending, using, and protecting a Metalbird digital gift card in Aotearoa.

Purchasing a Gift Card

You can buy digital gift cards at metalbird.co.nz. Once your order is approved, the gift card will be delivered by email to the address you provide at checkout — ready to forward, print, or dramatically frame on the fridge.

Redeeming a Gift Card

• Gift cards can only be used online at metalbird.co.nz

• They can't be exchanged for cash (unless legally required)

• They can’t be used to buy other gift cards

• Apply your code at checkout to use your balance

• Any leftover balance stays on your gift card for future use

Multiple Payments

If your order total is more than the value on your gift card, you can pay the rest using any accepted payment method (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay, etc.).

Expiry

Good news – Metalbird gift cards never expire. No ticking clocks. No hidden traps. Just peace of mind.

Refunds for Gift Card Purchases

• If you return something bought with a gift card, the refund goes back onto the original gift card (or a new one if it’s gone walkabout)

• If you used both a gift card and another payment method, we’ll refund the other method first, then the gift card

Cancellations

Changed your mind? You can cancel your gift card within 14 days of purchase – as long as it hasn’t been used. We’ll refund it to your original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.

Lost or Stolen Gift Cards

Treat your gift card like cash. If it’s lost, stolen or accidentally deleted, we can’t replace it unless you’ve got proof of purchase and it hasn’t been redeemed yet. Email [email protected] and we’ll see what we can do.

Disputes or Suspicious Activity

We reserve the right to pause or cancel gift cards if we spot anything dodgy – like fraud or system misuse. If something doesn’t look right, we’ll investigate.
